Mon | Apr 14

Indianapolis Public Library Events

  • Construction Zone: College Avenue Branch | 10:30 am - 11 am Toddlers 18-36 months can build and then demolish in this hands-on program with the Indiana State Museum. Explore art and engineering with ramps, towers, trucks, and more construction fun! This program will offer a tactile experience to build fine motor and problem-solving skills. Register here. 

  • Teen Zone Paws & Breathe: Irvington Branch | 4 pm - 5 pm Tweens and teens in grades 6–12 are invited to visit a therapy dog and enjoy other quiet activities in our Teen Zone.

  • Minecraft Club at Central Library: Central Library | 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm Kids ages 7 and up are invited to join us in the Arena on the 2nd floor for Minecraft Club! Stop by to mine, build, and interact with fellow Minecrafters using the Library’s laptops or iPads. Jump into our premade world or create one entirely of your own!

  • Family Fun Night: Glendale Branch | 6 pm  - 7:30 pm Come to the Glendale Branch for activities for the whole family. This is a monthly program with different activities each month. Some possible themes are games night, STEM activities, role playing and other fun activities.


Community Yoga; Garfield Park Burrello Family Center Community Room

6:30 pm  This class is accessible to beginners and first time yogis. Bring your own mat. After the yoga class is over (around 7:35), there is an optional 10-15 guided meditation. Trivia Night: The Garage Food Hall

7 pm - 9 pm Join your host The QuiZZler and your group of 5 or less in trivia as you enjoy the great drinks and food of The Garage (for purchase). Free.

  • Storytime: Michigan Road | 10:30 am - 11:15 am Preschoolers, toddlers, and their caregivers are invited for stories, fingerplays, crafts and activities. No registration is required.

  • Family Game Night:Central Library | 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm Bring the family for Family Game Night on the 2nd floor by the Atrium!

  • Art Adventures: Nora Branch | 10:30 am - 11:15 am Join Jeremy South of Ripple Mobile Arts to explore art inspired by picture books. Children ages 3-6 will learn about crayon resist art and take home a creation of their own! Dress to mess! Register here. 


Game Night Social: The Garage Food Hall

Indianapolis Public Library Events

  • Family Storytime: College Avenue | 10:30 am 11:30 am Families with children of all ages are invited to listen to stories, sing songs, and participate in movement activities. Stay after stories are finished for some literacy activities and play time.

  • Storytime: Irvington Branch | 10:30 am - 11:15 am Babies and toddlers, birth through age 3, with an adult are invited to enjoy stories, songs, rhymes, movement, and more. It's a great way to introduce little ones to a lifelong love of reading. 

  • Storytime: Glendale Branch | 10:30 am 11:30 am Children ages 2-4 and their caregivers are invited for stories, fingerplays, crafts, and activities.

  • Family Storytime: Nora Branch | 10:30 am - 11:30 am Families with children ages 0-6 are invited to join us for stories, songs, and so much more fun every Wednesday morning.

  • Explore STEM + More: Central Library | 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm Kids and families, drop by the Arena on the 2nd floor to immerse yourself in the world of science and tech exploration. Discover something new by exploring robots, LEGOs, STEM apps, crafts, games and more at your own pace.

  • Lego Club: Glendale Branch | 4 pm - 5:30 pm School-age children are invited to build with Legos, try challenges, and do STEM projects.

  • Plants and Pollinators: Nora Branch | 4 pm - 5 pm Explore the wonders of nature through flowers and bees! Examine plants and bees to understand their anatomy and learn how bees and other pollinators play a crucial role in helping plants reproduce. For kids ages 6-12. Register Here.

  • Family Game Day: Garfield Park | 3 pm - 4:30 pm Families, teens, and children are invited to play board, card, and dice games. The Library will provide the games. You are also welcome to bring your own games.



Indy Winter Farmers Market: The AMP at 16 Tech

9:00 am - 12:30 pm Check out the several local vendors, family farms, and food producers at the winter farmer’s market where you will find a variety of fresh produce, smoothies, bakery goods, jewelry, material goods, skincare products, and more! Parking is free!

Eggventure on the Canal: Downtown Canal Walk 

1 pm - 3 pm This event is “Choose Your Own Eggventure” with several stops where participants will complete fun games and activities to earn their eggs. There is no official start, direction, or order. Go to a few stations or complete them all. Walk, run, stroll, or bike between each stop. Participants who complete their hunt and return their empty eggs will receive a special prize. Special activities this year include live music with Mr. Daniel, mini boat rides, balloon animals, and more! FREE but Registration is encouraged.
