Indianapolis Public Library Events

  • Storytime: Glendale Branch | 10:30 am - 11:30 am Babies up to 24 months and an adult are invited for stories, songs, fingerplays, and fun! Each session is followed by playtime with special toys designed just for babies.

  • Storytime: Michigan Road Branch | 10:30 am - 11:15 am Preschoolers, toddlers, and their caregivers are invited for stories, fingerplays, crafts and activities. No registration is required.

  • Family Game Night:Central Library | 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm Bring the family for Family Game Night on the 2nd floor by the Atrium!

  • Teen Zone: Garfield Park Branch | 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm Coloring, arts and crafts, games, study sessions, and more! The Library will provide the space and supplies for teens to engage with each other and Library resources.


Tuesday Run: Indianapolis Cultural Trail

5:30 pm - 6:30 pm FREE, friendly group run. Runners and walkers will gather at the Indianapolis 5:30 PM to stretch before departing  at 5:45 PM for a scenic run or walk along the beautiful Downtown Canal.

No Spandex Required Ride: The Indianapolis Cultural Trail 132 West Walnut Street

5:30 pm Beginner-friendly, 4-10 mile group bike ride that highlights how the Indianapolis Cultural Trail serves as the hub of Indianapolis' trail network. Every week, we explore different greenways, destinations and neighborhoods that are accessible by bicycle from the Cultural Trail and the Pacers Bikeshare network. In addition to the bike ride, we will also make a stop at a local brewery along the way to rest, enjoy an optional drink, and socialize with fellow riders. Free Registration

  • Clay Creations with Ripple Mobile Arts: College Avenue Branch | 2 pm - 3 pm In this hands-on workshop, kids will use clay to press leaves, flowers, and other found objects to create works of art. Learn about pottery as an ancient art form and how archaeologists study these objects to uncover the past. This program is for kids ages 6-12. Register Here.

Bikes and Bakeries Ride: Indianapolis Cultural Trail

10 am - 12 pm Explore the Indianapolis Cultural Trail and some of the city’s best bakeries on this fun monthly group bike ride. Join us on this beginner-friendly ride as we pedal 4–10 miles along the Indianapolis Cultural Trail and show how it connects to other trails and greenways, stopping at a different local bakery each month.
