Indianapolis Public Library Events

  • Minecraft Club at Central Library: Central Library | 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm Kids ages 7 and up are invited to join us in the Arena on the 2nd floor for Minecraft Club! Stop by to mine, build, and interact with fellow Minecrafters using the Library’s laptops or iPads. Jump into our premade world or create one entirely of your own!

Bike & Bootcamp: Orange Bridge on the Cultural Trail 

6 pm Combine cardio and strength training for a unique, full body workout along the scenic Downtown Canal. FREE, dynamic fitness class starts and ends at the Orange Bridge, where the Indianapolis Cultural Trail intersects with the Downtown Canal near the Colts Canal Playspace.  Participants will needs to bring their own bike, helmet, and water. Workouts are led by Tiffianie King of 3 B Fit Body, Beauty & Brain LLC. Waiver is required and registration is encouraged.

  • Storytime: Glendale Branch | 10:30 am - 11:30 am Babies up to 24 months and an adult are invited for stories, songs, fingerplays, and fun! Each session is followed by playtime with special toys designed just for babies.

  • Storytime: Michigan Road | 10:30 am - 11:15 am Preschoolers, toddlers, and their caregivers are invited for stories, fingerplays, crafts and activities. No registration is required.

  • Art Adventures: Central Library | 11 am - 11:45 am Join Jeremy South of Ripple Mobile Arts to explore art inspired by picture books. Children ages 3-6 will learn about crayon resist art and take home a creation of their own! Dress to mess! This program will have ASL interpretation. Register Here. 

  • Food Friends: Garfield Park Branch | 1 pm - 1:30 pm Read, play, learn, and make snacks! Children ages 3-5 will join Nutrition Services from the Marion County Public Health Department to explore colors found in healthy foods. Register Here.

No Spandex Required Ride: The Indianapolis Cultural Trail 132 West Walnut Street

5:30 pm Beginner-friendly, 4-10 mile group bike ride that highlights how the Indianapolis Cultural Trail serves as the hub of Indianapolis' trail network. Every week, we explore different greenways, destinations and neighborhoods that are accessible by bicycle from the Cultural Trail and the Pacers Bikeshare network. In addition to the bike ride, we will also make a stop at a local brewery along the way to rest, enjoy an optional drink, and socialize with fellow riders. Free Registration 


Indy Parks Ride Series: Riverside Park 

6 - 7:30 pm  Ride distance ranges between 5 and 20 miles. Each ride is fun and relaxed and led by friendly staff from Bike Indy. It is designed for cyclists of all levels. Sign up here.

Polkadots:The Cool Kids Musical: Indianapolis Artsgarden/Visitor Center 1 North Illinois 

6:30 pm 8-year-old Lily Polkadot just moved to the small, “Squares Only” town of Rockaway. As the first Polkadot in an all Square school, Lily faces an almost impossible task of gaining acceptance from her peers. Lily’s quest seems hopeless until she meets Sky, a shy Square boy whose curiosity for her polkadot skin blooms into an unexpected friendship.
