Indianapolis Public Library Events

  • Music & Movement with Kindermusik: Glendale Branch | 10:30 am - 11 am Children birth through age 5 and their caregiver will join Kindermusik of Indianapolis in this music and movement class. Adults will bond with their child through singing, dancing, and instrument playing. There's room for everyone to grow in this family program! Registration Required

  • Minecraft Club: Central Library | 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm Kids ages 7 and up are invited to join us on the 3rd floor of the library for Minecraft Club! Stop by to mine, build, and interact with fellow Minecrafters using the library’s laptops or iPads. Jump into our premade world or create one entirely of your own!


Bike & Bootcamp: Orange Bridge on the Cultural Trail 

6 pm Combine cardio and strength training for a unique, full body workout along the scenic Downtown Canal. FREE, dynamic fitness class starts and ends at the Orange Bridge, where the Indianapolis Cultural Trail intersects with the Downtown Canal near the Colts Canal Playspace.  Participants will needs to bring their own bike, helmet, and water. Workouts are led by Tiffianie King of 3 B Fit Body, Beauty & Brain LLC. Waiver is required and registration is encouraged.

Indianapolis Public Library Events

  • Storytime: Glendale Branch | 10:30 am - 11:30 am Babies up to 24 months and an adult are invited for stories, songs, fingerplays, and fun! Each session is followed by playtime with special toys designed just for babies.

  • Storytime: Michigan Road Branch | 10:30 am - 11:15 am Preschoolers, toddlers, and their caregivers are invited for stories, fingerplays, crafts and activities.

  • Helping Handa with Seeds of Caring: Nora Branch | 3 pm - 4 pm Put your helping hands to work! Learn about food insecurity in our community and how small acts of kindness make a big difference. Kids will decorate reusable canvas shopping bags which will be donated to clients of St. Vincent de Paul-Indianapolis food pantry. Register Here.

  • Family Game Night:Central Library | 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm Bring the family for Family Game Night on the 2nd floor by the Atrium!

  • Pokemon Card Trading: Glendale Branch | 6 pm - 7:30 pm Bring your cards and get ready to trade! For children 11 and under only.


Story Time: Goodies and Giggles

11 am Join us for story time every Tuesday at 11am. We will read a few books, have our play tables open, and enjoy time together. No registration required. Recommended for ages 5 and under.


Tuesday Run: Indianapolis Cultural Trail 

132 W. Walnut Street

5:30 pm - 6:30 pm FREE, friendly group run. Runners and walkers will gather at the Indianapolis 5:30 PM to stretch before departing  at 5:45 PM for a scenic run or walk along the beautiful Downtown Canal.


Game Night Social: The Garage Food Hall

906 Carrollton Avenue

6 pm - 9 pm Laugh with old friends or meet new ones while enjoying tabletop games. Feel free to bring your favorite game from home. Food from the various vendors will be open for purchase. All ages welcome. Free.

HIIT IT on the Canal: Orange Bridge 

5:30 pm A FREE, full-body outdoor fitness class next to the Orange Bridge on the Downtown Canal for a powerful mix of cardio and body-weight HIIT exercises designed for all fitness levels. Expect expert instruction, a heart-pumping workout, and an encouraging community while soaking in one city’s most scenic views. Led by José Leigh of Wiñay Kallpa. No Spandex Required Ride: The Indianapolis Cultural Trail 132 West Walnut Street

5:30 pm Beginner-friendly, 4-10 mile group bike ride that highlights how the Indianapolis Cultural Trail serves as the hub of Indianapolis' trail network. Every week, we explore different greenways, destinations and neighborhoods that are accessible by bicycle from the Cultural Trail and the Pacers Bikeshare network. In addition to the bike ride, we will also make a stop at a local brewery along the way to rest, enjoy an optional drink, and socialize with fellow riders. Free Registration
