Indianapolis Public Library Events

  • Winter Open Activities: Central Library | 1 pm - 3 pm Looking for a fun way to keep warm while on break? Come join the Learning Specialists this week for winter-time fun! Children, families, and groups are welcome to check out some of our technology, games, and activities or do a cool winter craft! 

  • Minecraft Club: Central Library | 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm Kids ages 7 and up are invited to join us on the 3rd floor for Minecraft Club! Stop by to mine, build, and interact with fellow Minecrafters using the library’s laptops or iPads. Jump into our premade world or create one entirely of your own!

  • Block Party: Michigan Road Branch | 2 pm - 3 pm Kids are invited to flex their creative muscles and building skills at our Block Party! 

  • Teen Fic Club: Make it "Write"! - Monthly Writing Club - Monthly Writing Club: College Ave Branch | 4:30 pm - 6 pm Love a story but it didn’t end “right”? Missing some of your favorite characters? Maybe you could write it yourself! The Teen Fic Writing Club is an opportunity for you to hone your craft as a writer, through fanfic writing or creating your own original works! Register Here.

  • Family Game Night: Central Library | 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm Kids, teens, and families are invited to stop by the Atrium on the 2nd floor for Family Game Night! We have lots of board, card, and dice games to explore along with giant-sized chess, checkers, Jenga, and Connect 4.

  • Pokemon Card Trading: Glendale Branch | 6 pm - 7:30 pm  Bring your cards and get ready to trade! For children 11 and under only.

Indianapolis Public Library Events

  • Storytime- Toddler & Preschool: College Ave Branch | 10:30 am - 11:30 am Children aged 3-5, and their families, are invited to a half-hour of stories, songs, and rhymes, followed by playtime, art, and social time with other families!

  • Winter Open Activities: Central Library | 1 pm - 3 pm Looking for a fun way to keep warm while on break? Come join the Learning Specialists this week for winter-time fun! Children, families, and groups are welcome to check out some of our technology, games, and activities or do a cool winter craft!

  • Explore STEM + More: Central Library | 1 pm - 4 pm Kids and families, stop by the 3rd floor to immerse yourself in the world of science and tech exploration. Discover something new by exploring robots, LEGOs, STEM apps, crafts, games, and more at your own pace.

Family Friendly New Years Eve Events: 

  • Countdown to Noon: Children’s Museum | 10 am - 1:30 pm Celebrate the final day of 2025 with activities, live music with Zak Morgan, and countdowns at noon and 1 p.m. that will allow your family to experience the excitement of a countdown at a reasonable hour!

  • Free festive favors for the big moment available (while supplies last).

  • Family New Years: Indiana State Museum | 6 pm - 8:30 pm Jam out with a live DJ, get your face painted, grab a glitter tattoo and enjoy hands-on activities for the whole family as you explore Celebration Crossing. At 8:30 p.m., we’ll count down to 2026 and welcome the New Year with a giant balloon drop in the Great Hall! This is an alcohol-free event. Tickets to ride the Snowfall Express must be purchased online in advance for this event. Tickets Required


Adult New Years Even Events:

  • New Years Eve - Dinner + Party: 8 Second Saloon | 6 pm & 8 pm Tickets Required

  • Howl at the Moon | 6 pm - 2 am Includes live music, premium open bar, dinner buffet, party favors and a champagne toast at midnight! Tickets Required

  • Rathskeller New Years Eve Party 2025 | 6 pm - 1 am Get ready to ring in 2025 with a night full of fun with Frank Bradford 7-8:30 PM & the Doo! 9-1am Our party will include a heavy appetizer buffet, live music, a dance floor, and a champagne toast at midnight. Tickets Required

  • Hyatt Regency New Years Eve Ballroom Bash | 8 pm Tickets Required

  • Tito's New Year's Eve 2026 All-Inclusive at the Roof: The Indiana Roof Ballroom | 8:30  pm - 1:30 am Tickets Required

  • Storytime: College Ave Branch | 10:30 am - 11:30 am Babies up to 24 months and an adult are invited for stories, songs, fingerplays, and fun! Each session is followed by playtime just for babies.

  • Tales 'n Play Storytime: Central Library | 11 am - 12 pm Stop in for some stories, music, and fun! Children ages 0-5 and their caregivers are invited to join Kid Central for a storytime! Afterward, all are welcome to stay for some open playtime.
