Indianapolis Public Library Events

  • Minecraft Club: Central Library | 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm Kids ages 7 and up are invited to join us on the 3rd floor for Minecraft Club! Stop by to mine, build, and interact with fellow Minecrafters using the library’s laptops or iPads. Jump into our premade world or create one entirely of your own!



Tue | Jan 6

Indianapolis Public Library Events

  • Storytime: Glendale Branch | 10:30 am - 11:30 am Babies up to 24 months and an adult are invited for stories, songs, fingerplays, and fun! Each session is followed by playtime with special toys designed just for babies.

  • Storytime: Michigan Road Branch | 10:30 am - 11:15 am Preschoolers, toddlers, and their caregivers are invited for stories, fingerplays, crafts and activities.

  • Teen Zone Paws & Breathe: Irvington Branch | 4 pm - 6pm Tweens and teens in grades 6–12 are invited to visit a therapy dog and enjoy other quiet activities in our Teen Zone.

  • Teen Zone: Central LIbrary | 5 pm - 7 pm Teens ages 12-18 are invited to explore art, technology, games, science, and more with Teen Central! Engage with free materials and learn new skills at your own pace in our new Teen Space on the 2nd floor!

  • Family Game Night: Central Library | 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm Kids, teens, and families are invited to stop by the Atrium on the 2nd floor for Family Game Night! We have lots of board, card, and dice games to explore along with giant-sized chess, checkers, Jenga, and Connect 4.

  • Paws to Read:College Avenue Branch | 6 pm - 7 pm School-aged children who are beginning or reluctant readers are invited to read to a non-judgmental registered therapy dog who loves to listen to stories. It's a great way to improve a child's reading skills and self-confidence! Register Here

  • Pajama Storytime: Irvington Branch | 6:30 pm - 7 pm Young children and their caregivers are invited to join us for bedtime stories, songs, and fun activities that build a love of reading and learning. Children are welcome to wear their pajamas and bring their favorite stuffie. No registration is required.

  • Family Storytime: Nora Branch | 10:30 am - 11:30 am Families with children of all ages are invited to listen to stories, sing songs and participate in movement activities.

  • Storytime- Toddler & Preschool: College Ave Branch | 10:30 am - 11:30 am Children aged 3-5, and their families, are invited to a half-hour of stories, songs, and rhymes, followed by playtime, art, and social time with other families!

  • Art Adventures: Nora Branch | 10:30 am - 11:15 am Join Jeremy South of Ripple Mobile Arts to explore art inspired by picture books. Children ages 3-6 will create their own masterpiece using a variety of materials. Dress to mess! Register Here
