Indianapolis Public Library Events

  • Ready, Set, School! Kindergarten Readiness: Pike Branch | 10:30 am - 11:15 am Help your child with pre-kindergarten skills in this workshop led by a former kindergarten teacher! Perfect for children ages 4-6. Register Here. 

  • Lego Block Party: Nora Branch | 6 pm - 7 pm Kids are invited to flex their creative muscles and building skills at our Block Party! Stop by the Nora branch community room to create with LEGOs, blocks, and other kid-friendly building materials.

  • Playwriting Workshop for Kids - with Fonseca Theatre: College Ave Branch | 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm Become a storyteller! Through games and creative exercises, kids will create their own short play. Perfect for budding writers, performers, and anyone who loves to tell stories.

  • Youth Art/Music Drop In: Nora Branch | 6 pm - 7 pm Please join Nora staff for an evening of free play with musical instruments.

Indianapolis Public Library Events

  • Storytime: Glendale Branch | 10:30 am - 11:30 am Babies up to 24 months and an adult are invited for stories, songs, fingerplays, and fun! Each session is followed by playtime with special toys designed just for babies.

  • Storytime: Michigan Road Branch | 10:30 am - 11:15 am Preschoolers, toddlers, and their caregivers are invited for stories, fingerplays, crafts and activities. No registration is required.

  • Pokemon Card Trading: Glendale Branch | 6 pm - 7:30 pm Bring your cards and get ready to trade! For children 11 and under only.

  • Paws to Read: Glendale Branch | 6 pm - 7 pm Beginning or reluctant readers ages 6 - 11 are invited to read to a registered therapy dog who loves to listen to stories.   • Storytime at College Avenue - Toddler & Preschool: College Ave Branch | 10:30 am - 11:30 am Children aged 3-5, and their families, are invited to a half-hour of stories, songs, and rhymes, followed by playtime, art, and social time with other families!

  • What's in a Pellet? - with Happy Hollow Children's Camp: Michigan Road Branch | 4 pm - 5 pm Learn all about our nocturnal, feathered friends! Dissect a real owl pellet, learn about owl population dynamics, and make a cool craft to take home. Register Here.
