Indianapolis Public Library Events

  • Harp Music & Stories: College Ave Branch | 10:30 am - 11 am Babies and toddlers will be introduced to the music of a concert harp in this program with Arts for Learning teaching artist Melissa Gallant.   • Teen: Fantasy Fitness - W/Stevie Deal: Central Library | 4 pm - 6 pm Get moving like your favorite characters! Whether you're channeling anime warriors, fantasy fighters, or superhero strength, build real-world fitness inspired by epic fictional worlds. Train your body, sharpen your mindset, and level up—one workout at a time. Register Here.

  • Camilla Paints the Town - A Children's Opera: College Ave Branch | 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm Camilla the Chameleon has only known black and white, but she discovers her color and sees the world with newfound wonder. This story weaves in the music of famous composers while teaching children about believing in themselves. Performed by the Indianapolis Opera. Lasts approximately 45 minutes.

  • Minecraft Club: Central Library | 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm Kids ages 7 and up are invited to join us on the 3rd floor for Minecraft Club! Stop by to mine, build, and interact with fellow Minecrafters using the library’s laptops or iPads. Jump into our premade world or create one entirely of your own!

  • Youth Art/Music Drop-In: Nora Branch | 6 pm - 7 pm Please join Nora staff for an evening of free play with musical instruments.

  • Canvas Paint for Kids: PIke Branch | 6 pm - 7 pm Come join the fun at Pike and take home a painted art project! Children 6-12 are welcome to join the fun as we paint on canvases that you can take home! All the supplies will be provided! Register Here..

Indianapolis Public Library Events

  • Storytime: Glendale Branch | 10:30 am - 11:30 am Babies up to 24 months and an adult are invited for stories, songs, fingerplays, and fun! Each session is followed by playtime with special toys designed just for babies.

  • Art Adventures: Michigan Road Branch | 10:30 am - 11:15 am Join Jeremy South of Ripple Mobile Arts to explore art inspired by picture books. Children ages 3-6 will create their own masterpiece using a variety of materials. Dress to mess! Register Here.

  • Teen Zone: Central Library | 5 pm - 7 pm Teens ages 12-18 are invited to explore art, technology, games, science, and more with Teen Central! Engage with free materials and learn new skills at your own pace in our new Teen Space on the 2nd floor!

  • Family Game Night: Central Library | 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm Kids, teens, and families are invited to stop by the Kid Central on the 3rd floor for Family Game Night! We have lots of board, card, and dice games to explore, along with giant-sized chess, checkers, Jenga, and Connect 4.

  • Paws to Read: Glendale Branch | 6 pm - 7 pm School-aged children who are beginning or reluctant readers are invited to read to a non-judgmental registered therapy dog who loves to listen to stories. It's a great way to improve a child's reading skills and self-confidence! Register Here
