Indianapolis Public Library Events

  • Introduction to Debate - A Six-Week Program for Middle School Students: College Ave Branch | 5:00pm - 6:30pm Middle school students are invited to a free program series to discover skills and gain confidence through learning about debate! This series will be led by Park Tudor junior and debate champion, Penelope Guevara! Registration Required

  • Minecraft Club: Central Library | 5:30pm - 7:30pm Kids ages 7 and up are invited to join us on the 3rd floor for Minecraft Club! Stop by to mine, build, and interact with fellow Minecrafters using the library’s laptops or iPads. Jump into our premade world or create one entirely of your own!

  • Family Game Night: Nora Branch | 6 pm - 7 pm A fun night of board games at the Nora Library. Patrons of all ages are invited to drop in any time for a fun night playing board games. Games will be provided.

Indianapolis Public Library Events

  • Storytime: Glendale Branch | 10:30 am - 11:30 am Babies up to 24 months and an adult are invited for stories, songs, fingerplays, and fun! Each session is followed by playtime with special toys designed just for babies.

  • Storytime: Michigan Road Branch | 10:30 am - 11:15 am Preschoolers, toddlers, and their caregivers are invited for stories, fingerplays, crafts and activities. No registration is required.

  • Teen Zone Paws to Breath: Irvington Branch | 4 pm - 5pm Tweens and teens in grades 6–12 are invited to visit a therapy dog and enjoy other quiet activities in our Teen Zone.

  • Teen Zone: Central Library | 5:00pm - 7:00pm Teens ages 12-18 are invited to explore art, technology, games, science, and more with Teen Central! Engage with free materials and learn new skills at your own pace in our new Teen Space on the 2nd floor!

  • Paw to Read: College Ave  Branch | 6 pm - 7 pm School-aged children who are beginning or reluctant readers are invited to read to a non-judgmental registered therapy dog who loves to listen to stories. It's a great way to improve a child's reading skills and self-confidence! Registration Required

  • Pajama Storytime:  Irvington Branch | 6:30 pm - 7 pm Young children and their caregivers are invited to join us for bedtime stories, songs, and fun activities that build a love of reading and learning. Children are welcome to wear their pajamas and bring their favorite stuffie. No registration is required.

Game Night Social: The Garage Food Hall

906 Carrollton Avenue

6 pm - 9 pm Laugh with old friends or meet new ones while enjoying tabletop games. Feel free to bring your favorite game from home. Food from the various vendors will be open for purchase. All ages welcome. Free.

Canal Squad Workout: Fitness Zone Indy (John Boner Community Center)

  • Storytime: Irvington Branch | 10:30 am - 11: 15am Babies and toddlers, birth through age 3, with an adult are invited to enjoy stories, songs, rhymes, movement, and more. It's a great way to introduce little ones to a lifelong love of reading. No registration is required.

  • Storytime: Pike Branch | 10:30 am - 11 am  Babies, toddlers, preschoolers and an adult are invited for stories, songs, fingerplays and play time

  • Storytime at College Avenue - Toddler & Preschool: College Ave Branch | 10:30am - 11:30am Children aged 3-5, and their families, are invited to a half-hour of stories, songs, and rhymes, followed by playtime, art, and social time with other families!

  • Storytime at Glendale - Toddlers and Preschool: Glendale Branch |  10:30am - 11:30am Children ages 2-4 and their caregivers are invited for stories, fingerplays, crafts, and activities.

  • Family Storytime: Nora Branch | 10:30 am - 11:30 am  Families with children of all ages are invited to listen to stories, sing songs and participate in movement activities
