Introduction to Debate - A Six-Week Program for Middle School Students: College Ave Branch | 5:00pm - 6:30pm Middle school students are invited to a free program series to discover skills and gain confidence through learning about debate! Minecraft Club: Central Library | 5:30pm - 7:30pm Kids ages 7 and up are invited to join us on the 3rd floor for Minecraft Club! Stop by to mine, build, and interact with fellow Minecrafters using the library’s laptops or iPads. Jump into our premade world or create one entirely of your own!
Seed Library Support at Central Library - Pack Seeds For Our 2026 Seed Library: Central Library | 6:00pm - 8:00pm Work with fellow volunteers to pack seeds for our 2026 Seed Library! Measure out bulk seeds into envelopes that community members can take home and grow. Registration Required
Youth Art Drop In: Nora Branch | 6:00pm - 7:00pm All ages welcome. Come and craft with peaceful orchestral music! Bring your own craft or choose from provided options.

Teen Fic Club: Make it "Write"! - Monthly Writing Club: College Ave Branch | 4:30pm - 6:00pm Love a story but it didn’t end “right”? Missing some of your favorite characters? Maybe you could write it yourself! The Teen Fic Writing Club is an opportunity for you to hone your craft as a writer, through fanfic writing or creating your own original works! Teen Zone: Central Library | 5:00pm - 7:00pm Teens ages 12-18 are invited to explore art, technology, games, science, and more with Teen Central! Engage with free materials and learn new skills at your own pace in our new Teen Space on the 2nd floor!
Paw to Read: Glendale Branch | 6 pm - 7 pm School-aged children who are beginning or reluctant readers are invited to read to a non-judgmental registered therapy dog who loves to listen to stories. It's a great way to improve a child's reading skills and self-confidence! Registration Required
Family Game Night: Central Library | 5:30pm - 7:30pm Kids, teens, and families are invited to stop by the Kid Central on the 3rd floor for Family Game Night! We have lots of board, card, and dice games to explore, along with giant-sized chess, checkers, Jenga, and Connect 4.
Pokemon Card Trading: Glendale Branch | 6:00pm - 7:30pm Bring your cards and get ready to trade! For children 11 and under only.

Cuentos de Centro Art Exhibit - Stories from the Middle - Central America : Central Library | 10:00am - 5:00pm The Cuentos Del Centro Art will be on display from May 1 - 31, 2026. The exhibit features Indianapolis artists connected to Central America. A reception will be held on May 9th from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Afterwards, from 12 - 4 p.m. performances from Latin American will be featured in our auditorium.
